Canada Day

James and Syd

Thursday was Canada Day.

I'm not organized enough to think of putting up a post on the actual day.

The band joined VACC in the BIG downtown parade.

I'm sure there were plenty of opportunities for pics of Canadians whooping it up.

But I spent my time with the band while they marched two different parades.

Marched is a euphemism, don't think 'orderly'.

Dave, aka 'devo' is a Carnival Band drummer. He has an infinite combination of costumes.

It just so happened that he parked himself in front of this poster when the band played on Granville Island this weekend.

The band is back on Granville Island Wed. Thurs. Fri. and Sat. Sadly our sunny weather seems to have left town for a few days.

The Carnival Band have their own blog. I don't really intend to weigh this blog down with their pictures.

But the band had 3 sets to play on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon and I haven't had time or energy to go anywhere or do anything else.
