In 1956 ...
... the Pacific Dogwood became B.C.'s provincial flower.
I was in Grade 2 and actually remember the teacher announcing this.
It must have been one of those rare moments when I was paying attention.

It's temporary ...
… so I'll take advantage of the fall colour while I can.
This is a late afternoon shot from my friendly neighbourhood cemetery.

Top Down
It was a nice day yesterday and warmer than it's been in yonks.
Trying to get shots of cars passing the cemetery has become a pet project of mine.

It's not easy, you have to wait ages for a colourful car to come by in Vancouver.
Everything is grey, or silver, or black or beige …..

Hollywood North
Ho-hum!
This isn't an unusual sight in Vancouver.
These units, and more out of the shot, turn up at the cemetery regularly.
The show is called Fringe. They shoot some interiors in admin. buildings.

4:30 Waiting For A Bus
The hedge around the cemetery is taller than I am.
So I held the camera over my head and hoped for the best.

4000 Feet Up
The general sentiment among any number of Vancouverites is 'the snow is exactly where it belongs'. On the mountains.
Personally, since I no longer have to shovel it, I don't mind if it snows down here.

Family Vault
There are only a couple of these in my friendly neighbourhood cemetery.
As a rule I don't skulk around the cemetery at night but on All Souls Night I was emboldened.

Snow ...
… in my friendly neighbourhood cemetery.
The ultimate irony is that I've just returned from Montreal, where winter was invented, and there wasn't a single snowflake to be seen.

Red Leaves
I use the cemetery to get from A to B.
Some people jog around the roads. Others take driving lessons in here (not permitted).
Still others just amble around or walk their dogs.
This was taken a few weeks ago, I'm out of town but I doubt the leaves are still on the trees.

I'm meandering across Canada.
There may be additional posts from time to time.
I'll be back in a couple of weeks although I haven't figured the details yet.

The View From Here
Vancouver General Hospital is clearly visible from the cemetery.
Let's hope the inverse doesn't apply.

Cross
It's slightly ironic that my friendly neighbourhood cemetery is the often the only thing keeping Meandering In Lotus Land alive.

Tedious Repition
About this time last year I took, more or less, the same picture of the same tree in the same cemetery.
