Now I think it is one of the most appealing examples of church architecture in the city. I thought it would be a cinch to get the pertinent information on the architect and the year it was built but it wasn't. The parish didn't have any information and after considerable assistance from the reference staff at the Vancouver Public Library I still wasn't much further ahead.
What I know is this, the church was built in 1963. Most significantly, the design on the exterior is the work of George A. Norris. There will be more of George's work featured on VDP in the future. In the absence of information to the contrary, and based on what I have read, I have to assume that George Norris was responsible for the design of the stained glass too.
Tomorrow, the stained glass.
For the next week I'm going to post pics I took on a trip to downtown this morning. It's going to be as dull as it sounds, maybe duller.

Remind me to drink lots of caffeine before I check your blog the coming week!
Seriously, can't wait to see the stained glass. The church is so contemporary, I am anxious to see the glass as well.
Good background story, hint, don't warn your readers that the next week will be boring. Every object can become interesting with a good photo or story.
Good luck, Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Wayne!
I laughed at the boring week to come! Sure it won't be. An interesting modern church.
Wishing you a Happy New Year, Wayne - lots of good things and peace in the world.
I love the title match to the subject. Looking forward to more.
I needed a break from all the fascinating CDP blogs, so I guess I'm just going to have to check in every day next week Wayne!
Thanks for your support during the year, I hope that 2009 brings you all you could possibly wish for, and another 365 pictures to share with us!

Wayne, your posts are never boring! Happy New year and blessings for a great year.
Alright, not just a master of winter photography but also of architectural photography. Yesterday's shots are awesome! And I think this church is lovely too. What do kids know?
