Public Art

From The Archives
The Ribbons by Anne Patterson
Churches, as a rule, are pretty accessible to the public but I don't make a habit of going in.
Even though I enjoy the architecture I feel like an intruder.
One quiet morning in San Francisco I wandered into Grace Cathedral up on Nob Hill.
It turned out to be a good time to visit, Ribbons, an art installation by Anne Patterson, was in place.

Space Cadet
Giving the photos titles is fun as long as it comes to me fairly quickly.
I'm pretty sure the title for this one came to me instantly.

Pre-War

From The Archives
1937 Buick Straight 8
I spent a while searching online to pin down the year of this Buick.
Once I'd figured it out (within a few years) I noticed the license plate.

NO DOGS

From The Archives

Back in the Fall of 2012 I climbed the stairs up Telegraph Hill in San Francisco.
I saw this sign part way up.

That's All Folks!!

I reckon this shot has been taken by every tourist who ever wandered near the Ferry Building at night.
I'm home and the SF photos are done.
All the SF photos can be seen here:

Contrasts in Architecture

The cute building is the Hobart Bldg. The not-so-cute one is 44 Montgomery St.

Hobart: completed 1914, architect Willis Polk
44 Montgomery: completed 1966, architect John Graham
