... a brief interlude from meandering.
If this image turned out OK I can't take credit.
The models know what they're doing and the lighting is pretty much set up by studio assistants who also know what they're doing.
Strobe lights are activated by Pocket Wizards mounted on the camera.
Meter subject, focus, release shutter (40 or 50 times).
Et voila !

The model knowing what she is doing is so correct. My son, a pro photographer with a studio, shoots lots and lots of nude women of all ages. They want the shots for their portfolios, and the ones who know what to do make his life a lot easier. He has lots of lights to set up and test and backdrops and things we point and shooters never think about. She is a beautiful lady, by the way.
Nice portrait Wayne. I'd stop meandering also, for a chance to shoot a model.
Wonderful shot Wayne! I know what you mean about all the lights! I took a series of baby photos at the school I went to and had such wonderful results...but I didn't control the lighting! But your choice of point of view and composition are equally important!!! Well done!
BTW...nothing mundane about that new banner shot...nice!!!
WOW, bet nobody complained about this assignment.
do you like taking portraits now, or still not?
If I had the space and the equipment I might be do more of it CaT. But it's not high on my list.
