The Sylvia is probably a good option for a place to stay when visiting Vancouver.
I've heard that it's reasonably priced if a tad dated.
The location, across from English Bay and next to Stanley Park, can not be beat.
I don't get to the West End much but this car is often parked in this spot when I do visit.
My best guess: 1950 Lincoln (with come customizing)

Or perhaps a '49. Lovely. The guy who got my girl in high school drove a '49 Merc - blue, lowered, fender skirts, dual exhausts...looked a lot like this car. I couldn't compete with my '37 Chevy.
I love it too and my best guess is a 1951 Mercury! Based on that groove running along the side above the molding.
I"m a tad dated myself. I'd like to stay there. Pull that fine Lincoln up out front and I'm sure you're buying dinner! :)

And the view from the patio of the Sylvia is spectacular.
@Lowell...if she dumped you for a newer model car...she wasn't worth it!!! (Especially if it sported a lowered fender...that's just wrong!!!)
I spent a lot of time trying to find images on Google that would help me figure out exactly what car this was. Usually I'd make a note when I took the picture but I didn't get any closer than this, with a 200mm lens.
It could well be a '49 or '51 and it might be a Merc. This car has been customized which may be part of the reason it's harder to identify. I'll post another picture of it if I ever figure out exactly what it is.
