2CV

The garage where I spotted this Deux Chevaux specializes in repairing Citroëns.
Someone has to.

Quebec St. at E. 3rd Ave.

Citroën 2 CV
I saw the car again on Granville Island a couple of few weeks later.

Eat At Joe's

_DSC2070-2
This '47 Chrysler always seems to be parked in front of Joe Fortes restaurant on Thurlow St.
Taking a wild guess, I'd say it's been photographed a bizillion times, give or take.
Joe Fortes is legendary as a lifeguard at English Bay who taught untold numbers of kids to swim around the turn of the last century.

Sylvia Hotel

The Sylvia is probably a good option for a place to stay when visiting Vancouver.
I've heard that it's reasonably priced if a tad dated.
The location, across from English Bay and next to Stanley Park, can not be beat.
I don't get to the West End much but this car is often parked in this spot when I do visit.
My best guess: 1950 Lincoln (with come customizing)

Blue Buick

This gem came out of nowhere while I was waiting for the bus.
Cursory Googling suggests it's a 1927/28 Buick.

Low Riders

'63 'Chevy'
Lowriders are pretty common in LA but they're a rare sight in Lotus Land.
Cyclists, on the other hand, are so plentiful you can hardly take a picture without one riding through the shot.

Rat Fink

You probably have to be a guy, and, over 50, and, interested in hot rods once upon a time, to know about the Rat Fink.

80% of success ...

.. is showing up.
                       ~ Woody Allen

I can be a total slug. It's often hard to motivate myself to get out. But, once I'm out I invariably come back with a week's worth of photos.
Some of them, like EMILY'S just fall into my lap.

Isetta 300 (late '50s, early 60s)

The sign in the rear window reads:

Please don't touch me
I'm not that kind of car

This can't be ...

… a good sign.
I wonder how many Hondas you can buy for the price of a Rolls Royce transmission.

A Clever Disguise

Under the stylish Karmann Ghia exterior it's still a Beetle.

Allure ...

… of the Automobile is the name of the exhibition at the Portland Art Museum.
This old Ford just happened to be parked out front.

Auto argenté

-0006-2
It's not the only Deux Chevaux in town but it's the only silver one I've noticed.

Ol' 55

-0003
There are plenty of 'Ol' 55' Youtube videos to check out for those who don't know the reference.
This particular block has been a bit of a goldmine for me and for that reason I can't divulge the location.
More to come.

Ambassador

1956 Nash Ambassador

Shut-ins with time on their hands might enjoy watching the witty (by 1957 standards) Ambassador promotional ad.

The biggest selling points seem to be the fully reclining seats and the capacious trunk.
