One of the Best

I've passed St. James Anglican Church hundreds of times. Even as a kid there was something about it that appealed to me. Later it became one of my favourite churches for it's style. It is wedged between two earlier church buildings, a rectory and a residence.
My first impulse was to think of the style as Art Deco but after a bit of reading I realize it is Art Deco influenced by earlier styles, including Byzantine.

Your blog has been included in our guide.

Around The World with Daily Photoblogs Old and New is a brief history of the City Daily Photoblog movement and a guide to sites around the world.

This guide is independent of the CDPB lists. Inclusion here does not imply that a blog qualifies for nor is officially a CDPB. Our criteria are that photographs mainly from a specific geographical location (not necessarily a "city" but usually more specific than a whole country or region) are posted at dated intervals (not necessarily daily), and archives are searchable by date.

Please keep us informed of any changes to your details.

Funny how a building can get under your skin like that. You've caught it at a nice time of day and I like the shadows created on the underside of the entryway.

This is my first visit to your blog. I found it listed in Barb's Vancouver daily photo blog sidebar. I son't know if you've joined City Daily Photo Blogs like Barb. I don't see the portal link in your sidebar, though. It will bring you lots of viewers. Glad to see another daily photo blogger for a beautiful Pacific Northwest city.

Wayne, glad you enjoyed seeing the Norton. The antique motorcycle gathering in Libby, Montana was a blast.

I like the solid look of this church. Nicely captured.

I love art deco and influenced by Byzantine is a bonus. Building can grab you, without knowing why. It's great doing these daily photos, you start to see what other people miss out on.
