  Another Time.  

The exact location of these older travel shots sometimes eludes me.

But I remember this one, it was taken in Cairns.

The Antipodes

As best I can recall this was taken up around Port Douglas in Australia.

It's a poor photo made worse by the total bungling of the processing.

I came back from Australia with many rolls of film and, for the first time, decided I'd have them scanned to disc.

When I picked up the discs I was told that most of my film had been destroyed during processing.

Some surviving shots seemed to be OK but other images, like this one, are scanned at very low res.

Since 2004 I've spent a lot on gear and 'Lens and Shutter' hasn't seen a nickel of it.

And they never will.

Sunday Feature - Another Place, Another Time

Back in the day I thought it would be a a shrewd move to shoot colour neg film instead of slide film.

All these years later that decision has come back to bite me.

Scanning slides was much easier and produced more satisfactory results.

It's hard to say how big a factor my incompetence plays in this but we can be sure it is a factor.

We are in the process of trying to teach ourself to scan colour negatives.

Slides were a walk in the park by comparison.

It's going to be a long slog.
