Reflecting

Sunday Feature - Another Place, Another Time
For years I'd start trips with the intention of making notes, keeping a journal, etc.
It never worked out and as a consequence I'm not sure where this 1976 shot was taken.
This much I know, it's Southern California, probably close to or in Death Valley.
These days I don't even pretend I'm going to make notes.

Wide angle did a wonderful job in catching the meeting between earth and sky.

Still a wonderful natural mirror.

The magic of digital photography will do some of the journal work for you. The camera records date and time right down to the second. Some even record the GPS location.

Ah, but a journal to accompany that wonderful photo would be so nice! Happy spring!

Hard to make notes while taking photos. On rare occasions I might if I want to remember the flower name. I like this shot.

Andy, my camera can accept a GPS. All it takes is $$$. :-) The digital info can offer clues that might help me out 20 or 30 years from now, or not.

Thanks for the comments.

I'm all for the GPS unit as I'm with you Wayne...I've started a few pathetic journals while traveling...now, if I want to remember something...I write a note on my iPhone!!! Not nearly as romantic as keeping a journal...but it helps me remember comments and situations to put in my travel book!!! (I've been making ibooks for each trip...I like it better than the old photo scrap book, although there are fewer photos!!!)
