Plain Old Dumb Luck

Kayaks
Walking around Victoria one morning I wanted to get a shot of these kayaks.
If the skateboard dude hadn't rolled by it wouldn't have turned out half as well.
If at all.

Dude, where's my car, or, uh, kayak? You're right. He gives the picture a lot of extra zing.

There are a limited number of other cities where you would find a store like this. Seattle for sure. Maybe Minneapolis or Boston. Not here. I don't think you could kayak upstream in the Mississippi.

m sure you're right. This was an MEC store which is the Canuck equivalent (and a literal coy of) REI.

And the lighting is perfect, the colors he's wearing, his posture in motion, the grid of tiles below adding another textural quality, the three panes dividing up the colorful kayaks in thirds, and those pops of blue to pull everything together. This is just superb.
