Market Street, 1969

Sunday Feature - Another Place, Another Time

Market St., 1969
Since I'm in SF today I thought it was timely to include this shot.
I'm pretty sure the construction was for the BART.
I was 19 and travelled from Vancouver on Greyhound.
My camera was a Kodak Instamatic.
The 126 film (easy-load cartridges) produced square negs and transparencies.
I'm not sure what I was trying to capture but a crane features prominently in the shot.

I'll be in San Francisco until Tuesday.

Here's a bonus shot of tourists in Union Square taken the other day.

I like the old signs in the photo from the past. The second is another great people shot.

nice!
was greyhound as slow as it is today? :)

CaT, I suppose so but at that age I wasn't concerned with slow or fast. I was just happy to be on an adventure. I wouldn't ride Greyhound now but that has less to do with speed than other considerations.

Thanks for the comments Andy, s.c.

Love that old shot and the crane of course!
The people in the 2nd look quite bundled up - it is still pretty warm here.
