Equestrian

In October I posted this image from the Eastside Culture Crawl.

I've known for a couple of months that the finished piece was installed in Yaletown but only saw it for the first time the other evening.

I think the piece deserves to be installed in a more prominent location.

But I'm rarely asked for my opinion on such matters.

I"m leaning to the unfinished version. Like the color. Now about that horse. Did he just goose those passersby?? :)

And for the record, tying me on there is the only way you'll get me on a horse!

Perfect timing. . .looks like the horse is nipping at the passersby. What in the world is going on with the rider. . .bare back, bare foot, encased in rope. . .and the scale of the horses hooves and head in comparison with the figure on board seems like the sculptor wanted this perched up on a higher base than it is to get the right perspective.
