M.V. Hollyburn

Still above water but I doubt she's seaworthy. The Hollyburn serves as the office for Harbour Cruises.

Prior to construction of the Lion's Gate Bridge, the M.V. Hollyburn was a ferry carrying passengers back and forth to the north shore. Even after the bridge was opened in 1938 some ferries continued to operate, maybe into the 50s.

She's named for Hollyburn Mountain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Sea-Bus still run ferries from downtown to North Van?

A nice ferry-tale, by the way -:)

Correctomondo Chuck.

We now have 3 Seabuses but I don't know how often all 3 of them operate at the same time. I imagine they will during the Olympics for sure.

For some reason we never call them ferries but that's what they are. There is talk lately of a trial project of ferries from downtown to West Van. This is a crackerjack idea if it materializes.
