Blot On The Landscape 2

Can you spot the blot on the landscape? Not likely.

This past week the wind turbine on Grouse Mountain was fully assembled.

It seems innocuous to me (and it's green) but a few whining old geezers have managed to get some air time with their opposition to it. For all the good it will do them now.

That last picture reminds me of this.

So are you going up in that thing and take photos for us? You know you could give Bob Crowe a run for his money by photographing it from every angle. That'll really gripe the whining old geezers! I think it's a fantastic idea. Enjoyed reading about it.

Laurie's right. Looked a bit like public art to me -- from this distance, anyway.

I really like wind turbines. There are some places where I wouldn't want to see them (there was talk about huge windfarms on Lewis and Shetland which would have destroyed the peat moorlands, the Lewis one has been defeated and the Shetland one is ongoing but being vigorously opposed). But in both those places maybe if they could set up an offshore windfarm I think that would be cool. There's something about being up close to them that is very soothing, spiritual even (if that doesn't make me sound too pseudy).

By the way, I'm still not getting your blog picked up in bloglines. I've had problems with a couple of other blogs, so I think it's probably a bloglines problem rather than with your feed. But grrr anyway.
