This shot needs embiggening to see just how many people turn out for Car Free Day on Commercial Drive. It's people as far as the eye can see for the 8 hours that the street is closed.
Even back when I thought I was cool I was never this cool.

I really like that idea. wonder if it would fly out here. They closed down the Pasadena Freeway once, and let people walk a ten-mile length. Fascinating to see what you've been speeding past all these years.
Yes, the Obama shirt on this post is much friendlier than the one on mine today.
I can't imagine a car-free anything in St. Louis. People would drive around in their Hummers, Denalis and Expeditions in raging protest.
I've been "car free" for a month and I'm really tired! ha But, I am dreading the car repair bill when I get back to Birmingham Sunday. Yikes, I might need a loan W.
