Winterruption runs from Feb.19 to 22 on Granville Island.
On Saturday I went to see and hear The Carnival Band.
There was lots more entertainment of all kinds but by the time the stilt walking girls and guys were through dancing to the music I'd had all the excitement I could stand for one day.
I took a lot of photos and it was a royal pain trying to pare them down to 4 favourites.

Great job capturing the fun! I especially like #3. At least you listen some of the time!

The Carnival Band looks like a fun bunch! I'd be afraid to get stepped on by those dancers on stilts though.

Don't forget to vote for the April theme! We get two choices this time, thanks to Elaine. Please help spread the word too.
It reminds me of Pasadena's Doo Dah Parade, only the costumes are better at yours.
We saw the signs for this festival when we were visiting this past week. Thanks for letting me know about all the fun we missed! :)
In appreciation for keeping me in touch with the wonders in Vancouver, I am presenting you with a Kreativ Blogger award!
Please pick up your award at my blog, http://nostalgiatodayandyesterday.blogspot.com (Scroll down to the picture of the award, click, and get the image to paste on your blog. I think that's what I did--I'm so new at this!).
If you wish, you may then transmit this award to seven other deserving bloggers, but that is not a requirement if you prefer not to do so.
Great bunch of photos, particularly the top one.
beautiful carnival shots , we can feel how happy they are !I love your title :)
Whoah, you got me at the end with the cute barry player! Love how you captured the movement and colors and excitement. It's like New Orleans' and Rio can't contain Mardis Gras/Carnival anymore. . . so many regions come up with fun celebrations around this time to delight their communities. Hope you enjoyed slogging through all your shots. These were great!
