No Dates

On a fairly regular basis Laurie taunts those of us in the Great White North with her palm tree photos. We just smile.

After all, there is a reason Vancouver is known as Lotus Land.

I've always found it kind of nutty but ten or twenty years ago palm trees of one sort and another started to appear around town. I suppose it's been good for the nursery business, I understand they cost a fortune.

I was out looking for puddles to photograph when I came across these.

Hey! What are my beloved palms doing freezing their little fronds off?

V is right, W... I'm having a fit over this one. It's just so odd to see tropicals growing in the snow.

Now I need to find a SoCal mountain snow picture to taunt you with.

Avignon has a picture today of a palm tree in front of a bakery with a blizzard going on. It must be a day for freezing fronds!

I'm amazed! Palm trees and snow is something I've never seen before! They must be extremely healthy to resist the cold. Fantastic!

They must put them in electric blankets overnight!

Oh, Dear! o_O
Won't they freeze to 'death' that way? -Besides that, I really like the harsh difference this creates in the photo!

We have a lot of palm trees here but what a strange sight to see them in the snow! I had no idea they could survive the cold. Great picture!
