Busking

Buskers perform in a number of designated locations on Granville Island. This fellow, who sings in French and English, has an impressive voice and is a regular here.

As Bob pointed out in an earlier comment, this plaza is usually packed with pigeons being chased by kids. I noticed one pigeon but they were generally conspicuous by their absence.

Being winter and all this is actually a quiet scene in comparison to a summer weekend.

Maybe pigeons don't like the singing. I know singing is one way business have tried to scare them away. Or, maybe they like to have kids chasing them and wait for the kid crowd to arrive.

Can you make any kind of money doing that? I'd like to hear that guy.

As to Virginia's question, I know a few Pike Place Market buskers who do pretty well. As with anything, it depends on your ability. The possibility is certainly there.
