Henry Moore

Damn Seagulls!

It's Public Art Day.

Show of hands, how many have a Henry Moore in their city?

Vancouver's Henry Moore is in Queen Elizabeth Park.

Canadian singer/songwriter Murray McLaughlan immortalised one of Toronto's Henry Moore sculptures in his song Down By The Henry Moore. The slideshow which accompanies the song track shows several Toronto scenes. While I'm on the topic of Murray McLaughlan, some folks, read tractor fans, may enjoy this slideshow which accompanies the Farmer Song

We had one in Lisbon for 15 years at Gulbenkian Foundation gardens, but for some reason, it came back to Leeds, I think.

I know there is a Moore in the UCLA Sculpture Garden -- and maybe in one of the cemeteries? This is a great shot! I'm off to look at your other links...

Apparently there is a Henry Moore exhibition of his work at the NYC Botanical Garden.

I like the statues.

Ming, I didn't know about those gardens. I feel I should mention another sculpture garden. The Donald M. Kendall Sculpture garden is on the grounds of Pepsico in Purchase NY. Good luck finding an official website but there are lots of Google hits for it. I went by train from Grand Central (to White Plains I think) a number of years ago. I thought the place was incredible. Seems like a great day out for New Yorkers.

At first I thought 'damn seagulls' was its name, then I got to the end of your post and saw the title and wondered what the heck that was about. THEN I looked at the photo again…

:D

Nice sculpture! We don't have any Henry Moore's here in Molfetta! ;-)

I love Henry Moore. I don't think there's any of his stuff in Glasgow, but would be delighted to be proved wrong.

(By the way, yes you're right being a veggie in Glasgow is fine - I've not gone hungry yet!)
