Coast Guard

The Seabus Burrard Otter is the second largest vessel in the Canadian navy. In the event of a seaborne attack during the Olympics the seabus will toot it's horn several times in a threatening way.

Just a little joke.

It's the third largest vessel in our navy.

But seriously folks. I know I'm going to be accused of concocting some lame excuse so I can post crane pics. But this is an Olympic related post.

That Coast Guard cutter wasn't just sailing by. It's stopped there guarding Canada Place. Or as they say in the navy, parked.

On the latest list of likely terrorist targets Canada Place came just before a Dairy Queen in Yak and just after a Shell station in Spuzzum (yes they're both real and both in B.C.)

But those cranes are really something aren't they?

Hovercraft

A bit of excitement on Spanish Banks Sunday afternoon. The Coast Guard hovercraft navigated through scores of waders to deliver a stretcher case to a waiting ambulance.
