A School Night

High School
This is a hand-held image taken a week or so ago.
It may not surprise anyone else but I'm amazed at the quality of images possible at high ISO nowadays.
It doesn't take much to amaze me.

You are so right about the sensitivity of high ISO night digital photography. In the old film days I could push Tri-X film and would still need a tripod and long exposures to get any image in low light, and even then these images were grainy and fuzzy. Now I can hand hold my camera and take pictures that would have been impossible before. Guess I'm easily amazed also.

You could have called it Prison Yard and I'd have believed you. Nice stark B&W.

A friend just came back from an Alaska cruise on a ship I/O of Vancouver. Said he glanced at the real estate ads in the paper. His conclusion was that if you owned a home there for 20 or 30 years and sold it now you could retire in St. Louis in utter luxury.

I'll wave as we pass offshore from YVR on our way to Anchorage late Wednesday night.
