Box Lobby

Box Lobby
My Dad worked in the main post office from the it's opening until he retired.
I can vaguely remember going on an 'open house tour' in 1958.
The Post Office is moving and the building has been sold.
Future plans are unknown.
It's an architecturally significant building and there will be an uproar if it's not preserved.

Nice you have got still one. Here in the netherlands are no more postoffices for the public. Very confusing for the public and tourists these days. You have to go to a supermarket to give your parcel or to get a stamp.

Post Offices were critically important institutions at one time, but their role in society is shifting. Hope the building finds another function and is preserved. Fine photo.
