When I visited Calcutta in 1986 I stayed a couple of nights in Sudder St.
Then as now it was backpacker central.
I barely recognized anything, either because it's all changed or I have a faulty memory.
I did recognize the Fairlawn Hotel which is a landmark in the area.
The goat herd was an added bonus.

I loved Calcutta when I stayed there ever so many years ago. And, I loved seeing animals walking freely in the streets.
