Camel dung ...

The women who collect it are among the best dressed dung collectors I've ever seen.

She's actually performing a pretty important task. Those women pay a terrible price eventually because of carrying all that weight on their heads...not healthy for necks and bones.

Doesn't sound like a very fun life. Nicely photographed every day life scene.

In our "advanced" societies it is easy to forget how hard life can be for people just to survive. It is also a conflict to use dung as fuel or fertilizer. It is a choice between cooking and warmth or better crops. This is a great iconic photo which tells quite a story. Also tells about the role of women in this society.

It's the proverbial drop in the bucket Paul. There are at least 3000 camels at the Camel Fair.

Consider it a dung job.

We are very fortunate to live in such prosperity as we do...even when the economy goes a bit south...
