Chinese Lion

This is one of a pair of lion statues donated to Vancouver by it's sister port city Shanghai.

I'm not even going to mention the cranes.

We'll just pretend they're symbolic of flying cranes, valued for bringing good luck.

Well said, louciao.

If the paw is on a globe, it's a boy lion, and if the paw is on a cub, it's a girl. I can't tell what s/he's got there.

That respite didn't last long. Didn't know Hiker was a Chinese lion aficionado! :)
