Ormidale 1900

Some time back I had a post showing the other side of the 100 W. Hastings St. Probably the most neglected block in all of downtown. On the other side of Hastings is the Woodward's project which looks like it should be completed by the end of the year. The other two buildings on that side of the street are the Ormidale which is looking pretty forlorn. And the Flack Block which has just undergone restoration. The arched entry was demolished at some point in the past and was cleverly recreated, possibly from old photos.

The Ormidale appears to have good potential and I'm hoping it receives the same care as the Flack Block.

Keen eyed observers may notice that this is the same block we saw the marchers on yesterday.

Flack Block. Well now you know that's an odd name but I'm sure you can give us the skinny on that one day. The red one looks like it might not be in terrible shape. I've been in worse....like last Sunday!

I'm always fascinated by the acrhitectural details. These buildings are far from flat nosed.

The first show. Frightening. The window is winking at me!

Yikes!

Great photos, though.
