I've Been Kicked Out of Better Places

The interior of the Royal Bank of Canada at Granville and Hastings Sts. is a designated city heritage site so I thought it would make an interesting post.

I made a point of looking for the No Cameras signs but there weren't any.

As soon as I started taking pictures a bank employee magically appeared and told me I couldn't.

I didn't take this too well. My mug shot is probably on the bulletin board in the staff lounge and I'm most likely banned from the bank for life.

My only regret is that I didn't have any money in there so that I could have made a huge production out of withdrawing it all.

I was being careful not to photograph staff or customers but apparently they thought I was casing the joint.

So are you telling us you made a little bit of a scene??? I guess we're lucky you're not photographing the inside of the pokey! Well you got some good ones before the guard hauled you off by your ear! I've done that in a few too many museums myself.

Hello, Wayne. I saw your comment on Kim's cell phone post, and was attracted by your avatar---I used to love Leghorn as a kid, and had almost forgotten about him. :<)

I was inside a fancy SHOPPING CENTER here and was photographing the huge chandelier, when a security fellow told me I couldn't. There wasn't any sign...so I retreated to a cafe table and sneaked a shot, just out of spite.

One time when a bank said they were going to put a hold on a deposit check, I said fine, I want to withdraw all my money and close the account.

Totally uninterested, the teller asked if I wanted that in twenties.

Something similar happened in Scotland recently - I think banks are getting more and more spooked about terrorism and all of that, though they didn't seem to worry about the financial terrorists in their midst.

You done a superb job of a snap and dash. The last photo is really something.
