Remain Calm

1930 Cord L29

There will not be four days of vintage car pics. Unlike the Wooden Boat Festival the SteamWorks' (restaurant/brewpub) Concourse d'Elegance is only one day

If you'd like to see photos of some of the cars on display you can have a peak at the album.

Sister Cities

I dropped the ball. I had heard about theme days but I didn't investigate closely. I'll try to do better next month.

Vancouver has 5 sister cities:

Los Angeles, been there, lots.
Edinburgh, been there, once.
Guangzhou (formerly Canton), been there, once.
Odessa, never been there, but I sailed on the MV Odessa (Ukranian/Russian crew) twice.
Yokohama, never been to Japan.

A list of classy cities to be sure but I find the fact that Vancouver has so many sister cities slightly disconcerting.

Eric says Paris only has one sister city and no one in Paris knows which city it is.

Edingburgh, fine city. This is a great shot. Focusing on a part rather than the whole image can be quite striking and that colour is so bold. You had some great input today on my blog. What drew me here in the first place was fabulous portrait you had, man in a green suit.I can still picture it now. I love your text and I have to say you do your self a disservice with your images. You have some fabulous ones.

What a beautiful old car! Someone really poured some love into this beaut, didn't they?

Paris' sister city is Rome and it has 40 partner cities, including Washington, D.C. Or so says Wikipedia...
