Olympic Village

One of the many condo buildings in the former Olympic Village.

These places are a huge liability for the City of Vancouver which effectively owns them after bailing out the developers.

So far the majority of them are unsold.

Southeast False Creek

Sunny blue skies are fine and dandy in their place.

But these slate grey skies are more dramatic.

Gaggle

Normally there is a chain-link fence keeping humans and photographers away from these geese.

On this day the public got beyond the fence for the public art opening (see yesterday's post)

Wheatboard Dozer

The Games Are Open is a project installed on a wasteland next to the Olympic Village.

This larger-than-life bulldozer is made from wheatboard salvaged from 2010 Olympic construction.

The wheatboard will eventually disintegrate from exposure to the elements.
