Sailing Into The Sunset

The Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival was a lot of fun, for me at least. But not everyone is interested in boats and I haven't been showing much of Vancouver other than the underside of the Granville Street Bridge and the expensive waterfront condos on False Creek. 

This is the last of the wooden boat pics. Sunday was the final day but rain came down in sheets and I couldn't force myself to go down to Granville Island. I probably missed an opportunity. 

The view above shows some of the boats, several more are tied up further along the dock.

Midnight Sun

Midnight Sun was a commercial fishing vessel on the B.C. and Alaska coast and in the Bering Sea. Her present owners have done an amazing job of converting her to a private vessel. All boat show visitors were welcomed aboard to have an up close look.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you. at no additional cost!, the Granville Island Wooden Boat Festival.

The show runs until Sunday, so those not the slightest bit interested in boats may be less than thrilled. Sunday or Monday we'll get back on dry land, sooner if I can't get sufficiently nice boat pics.
